ScanLAB @ UCL is run by architecture graduates Matthew Shaw and William Trossell.
ScanLAB explores the potential of large scale terrestrial laser scanning as tool for design, visualisation and fabrication. We use a range of state of the art 3D scanning technologies to capture buildings, objects and spaces.
Our teaching at UCL introduces a wide audience to the basics of laser scanning technology. ScanLAB run Bartlett based Open Classes and longer workshop style expeditions. Students participating will experiment with the use of large scale scanning as a tool for film making, visualisation and fabrication.
ScanLAB @ UCL feeds on our commercial and experimental practice www.scanlabprojects.co.uk currently working with designers, artists and scientists on a worldwide portfolio of projects.
